Here are some really rare photographs of old time Bombay (Now Mumbai). I bet you won't be able to guess any location by looking at the picture. I could not. It feels as if Bombay to Mumbai has been quite a journey for the city. The cleanliness, the silence can be felt in these old pictures. This is one of the most famous tourist hot spot in Mumbai of course it was called Bombay back then. This is Apollo Bunder where now stands The Mumbai Hot Spot The Gateway Of India.
A famous hot spot of Bombay, Marine Drive, is called the Queen's Necklace today. Check out the quaint benches across the length of the drive. Unbelievable Mumbai!
